It was constructed based on earlier theories and research on the Internet and gaming. It was further enriched by the inclusion of findings from qualitative interviews and field observation to ensure that the items were correctly expressed. It was validated using 1,477 Indonesian junior and senior high school students from several schools in Manado, Medan, Pontianak, and Yogyakarta.
